There is many of gamers are in great anticipation of the release of wrath
of the Cataclysm Beta in WOW. One of many features that these players are
anticipating is the new continent of "Northrend". While snowstorm
Entertainment is keeping plenty of information about this widely
anticipated continent under tabs, there has been some info released that
players can use to find out more about this continent. In this guide,
you'll be exposed to some of the information that's available per the
continent of Northrend in world of warcraft. Northrend is the cold,
ominous home to the malicious Lich King. The continent is alleged to be
extremely icy, and there appears to be dark cloud hanging over the area.
This is the area where the Icecrown Citadel is located.

This is the gaff of the malicious Lich King. The continent is found in the
North. Originally, this area was basically part of Kalimdor. It has been
quoted the continent is called "the roof of the world". Now, it is a
complete wasteland that broke from Kalimdor because of a break in the
"Sundering". This is a world event that occurred in Warcraft that reshaped
the way that Azeroth looks. This happened after the War of the Ancients,
about 10,000 years before where we are now. When the "Well of Eternity"
was wiped out, it actually led on to the calamity. Right at roughly 80% of
the general land was destroyed. Now, we are left with just the lands of
Kezan, Eastern kingdoms, Northrend, and Kalimdor. The ever-popular "Well
of Eternity" is now called "Maelstrom" which is a robust vortex. Northrend
drifted up in the cold waters and rested in the North of all the other
lands...overtaken by the cold, the snow, the ice...it became the suitable
resting place for the ominous Lich King, thousands upon thousands of
immense dragons in the area of "The Dragonblight", only they're in the
shape of skeletons, and the Nerubians. These are men, but are encouraged
by the shadows and are in the forms of spiders. Once in a while, you can
run across a human, or maybe even a troll...but this is a rare occurrence.
Additionally to many different regions in Northrend, there are also a
number of Dungeons that you can experience on this continent. As you can
see here, Northrend is piled high with lots of fascinating regions,
dungeons, races, and more. As well as this, it comes with a rich history
that is bound to play a critical role in the present times to determine
the future of this frozen wasteland in World of Warcraft's wrath of the
Lich King.
